Player’s Ranking

PLAYER’S RANKING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:

As an incentive for player’s of the New York area, to compete more and therefore improve their skills, we are adding a competition among the season’s competitions.

This new initiative is done jointly by La Boule New Yorkaise and New York Pétanque Club, and is opened to all members (and associate members) of both clubs.

RULES:

** Each player who will enter a tournament will receive points based on her/his result.

** Tournaments sanctioned by the FPUSA or not, will be valid for ranking if played in the USA or Canada

** Players entering tournaments outside the New York area will be responsible for proof of their results at such tournaments, and providing verification information. Such written proof will be submitted to their club’s president.

** The top three ranked players will be rewarded with prize money (to be decided soon) and a yearly Trophy, after the last tournament of the year. For 2011, such tournament will be the Petanque-America tournament, November 12^th and 13^th

POINTS SYSTEM:

Points will be received pro-rated to the number of team participating to each tournament.

The first eight placing players will receive points based on the following scale:

1^st 100%

2^nd 75%

3^rd 50%

4^th 50%

5^th, 6^th, 7^th, 8^th 25%

Example:

Single tournament with 24 players:

1^st = 24 pts

2^nd = 18 pts

3^rd & 4^th = 12 pts

5,6,7,8^th = 6 pts

Double tournament with 18 teams (each player of the same team receive equal amount of points)

1st = 18 pts

2^nd = 14 pts (13.5 goes 14….if 13.4 it goes 13 pts)

3 & 4^th = 9 pts

5,6,7,8^th = 5 pts

The results will be maintained and published by both clubs on their website.
